The Dodd Retirement
This has been a bad day for Democrats in terms of retirements: Sen. Byron Dorgan of North Dakota and Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter are bowing out. And now several news sources are reporting that the latest to step aside in 2010 will be Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd.
Dodd often tapped Hollywood for campaign cash, including for his 2008 presidential bid, and has counted among his friends Lorne Michaels of "Saturday Night Live" and singer Paul Simon, who went out on the campaign trail for him.
But lately Dodd, following the revelation of a questionable loan he took from Countrywide Financial, has been a target, and faced an uphill fight for re-election, possibly a well-financed challenge from World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Linda McMahon. But some of the most withering criticism came from the left, in the form of Michael Moore and his movie "Capitalism, A Love Story," which chronicled Dodd's relationship with former Countrywide chief Angelo Mozilo.
Tonight Moore tweeted the news: "One CT senator down, one to go."

We are in serious trouble already in Connecticut ... its too bad good guys like Dodd -- cause to ME Dodd is a good guy -- look what's on the other side of the aisle ... Lieberman -- different house perhaps, but just the same game -- terrible -- we're all in deep dooh-dooh and it's all "post-Bush" stuff, they can blame Obama and the present 'sinners' in Washington, but anyone with a half a brain who's been around knows who's fault this "all" is ... Bush's. (define "all" : war, terrorism, economic collapse, total demoralization of society - all these goodies only Bush & his Cheney Co. could have achieved!
If we cannot replace these dems its over, AGAIN!, except for the slaughter in the congress AND house ultimately.

And MOSTLY ... why can't Connecticut rid itself of Lieberman? He is tedious, ugly in spirit to watch and listen to, and I can't take him anymore, I get ulcers listening to him whine and lie at the same time. Had to post twice when I saw I didn't address the Lieberman issue as he's a true problem that warrants commenting on. Thanks Mike for keeping him in the 'discussion'. That's it from this peanut gallery, as if anyone cares now, but that's why Gore lost the election ... truly ... as it probably would have been an uncontested Gore victory had he picked a different runner for vice.
