Senator Cliff Clavin?

57461037 The StarTribune reports that former "Cheers" star John Ratzenberger is considering a run for U.S. Senate in his native Connecticut in 2012, seeking the seat held by independent Joe Lieberman.

Ratzenberger was among the guests at a Minneapolis fund-raiser for Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty's new leadership PAC, an event that raised $300,000 and also drew actor Jon Voight.

Ratzenberger said he would support Pawlenty if he runs for president in 2012.

Voight praised Pawlenty at the event but said that he was not ready to endorse.

I'd like to hear what he stands for.

A guy from the Entertainment world who actually has common sense.
So refreshing!

Lance

He ought to run against Mr. Waitress Sandwich Chris Dodd.

Susan

I agree with Lance, John Ratenberger should go after Dodd's seat, not Liberman's. How do we get this message to him. Hat's off to him for wanting to step up to the plate, BUT it should be Dodd.

DUMP DODDDDD!

Dan

I knew I like John Ratzenberg when I saw him on a cable show he had. Seemed like a real nice / non Hollywood guy.

I have alot of respect for Lieberman, but if he can't win in Connecticut someone like Ratzenberg would be a nice change of pace.

Aaron

This should be interesting. Republicans have a good track record being elected to office: Ronald Reagan, Fred Grandy, Sonny Bono, Clint Eastwood (mayor of Carmel, CA), and Arnold Schwarzenegger comes to mind. The only Democrat entertainer I can think of is Al Franken and he had to cheat to win. Can anyone add more to either list?
