Gupta Doesn't Want Surgeon General Post
CNN's Sanjay Gupta withdrew his name from consideration to be President Obama's surgeon general.
A White House official told CNN, "Sanjay Gupta was under serious consideration for the job of surgeon general. He has removed himself from consideration to focus more on his medical career and his family. We know he will continue to serve and educate the public through his work with media and in the medical arena."
Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) had opposed Gupta's potential post, calling him inexperienced.
