Tina Fey's "SNL" Encore

Aleqm5jqmvkmydqteziq8krohofy6fhg_3 Tina Fey returned as Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night Live" in an opening skit mocking the vice presidential debate with Joe Biden.

It's just as biting as last week's skit that played off of Palin's interview with Katie Couric.

Fey doesn't answer moderator Gwen Ifill's questions, she uses the word "maverick" endlessly and even, at one point, plays the flute as if it were the talent portion of a beauty pageant.

Jason Sudeikis played Biden, alternately calling McCain a "dear friend" and a "raging maniac."

Video here.

As  Ifill,  Queen Latifah opens the debate with this caveat, "Due to the historically low expectations for Gov. Palin, were she simply to do an adequate job tonight, at no point cry, faint, run out of the building or vomit, you should consider the debate a tie."
