"Milk" Scribe's Prop 8 Ads

Dustin Lance Black, screenwriter of the upcoming film "Milk," directed two Web ads for the group Republicans Against 8.

The first, "Join Us!," features Log Cabin members Steven Sion, Carol Newman, and Len Greco, West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Chairman Joe Clapsaddle and Here! TV Network stars Brian Nolan and David Moretti.

The other ad, "Defending Freedom," highlights the accomplishments of gay and lesbian Californians in protecting the rights of their fellow Americans.

Focus Features is releasing "Milk" after the election. Steven Zeitchik notes in today's Hollywood Reporter that Focus is deliberately staying out of the political fray.
