Robert Novak's TMZ Moment

0723_robert_novak_videoThere seems to be some kind of an alternative universe out there with this latest TMZ.com video. Usually obsessed with the shenanigans of pseudo-celebrities under the age of 23, the tabloid trains its attention to 77-year-old Robert Novak and his scrape with a pedestrian in his Corvette.

It's actually a good indicator of what a TMZ DC would look like --- even though plans have long been stalled.

Oddly enough, D.C. seems like the most appropriate locale for TMZ's in-your-face style of "journalism". Then again, this country would be a much better place if politicians were actually chased down, cornered and targeted by the spotlight when partaking in so-called moral wrongdoings. It wouldn't allow them to cover up nearly as much, and there'd be more politics-related hypocrisy unmasked on both sides. Of course, politicians would fight to the death to prevent that from happening. If only people cared as much about political officials upholding the role model standard rather than putting that pressure specifically on Hollywood. Politicians certainly hold more power over the nation, and they're essentially celebrities too.
