Obama's Big Buy

Ad Age reports that Barack Obama's campaign has made a whopping $5 million buy of ad time during NBC Universal's coverage of the Olympic Games in Beijing.

The trade mag calls it "the first significant network TV buy of any presidential candidate in the last 16 years."

Obama's ads will air on network and cable coverage of the Games, including NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Oxygen and Telemundo.

The ceremonies, which begin on Aug. 8, include such major advertisers as McDonalds and Anheuser Busch.
