"Yes, We Can" Wins Emmy

Barack Obama won a Grammy, and now the video inspired by one of his speeches has won an Emmy.

Will.i.am's video "Yes, We Can," inspired by Obama's speech following the New Hampshire primary, won a Daytime Emmy on Friday in a new category called "best new approaches in daytime entertainment."

The video, directed by Jesse Dylan and conceived by Fred Goldring, features such celebrities as John Legend, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Herbie Hancock, Kate Walsh, Kelly Hu, Nick Cannon and Scarlett Johansson.

Although it was made independently of the Obama campaign, the video often is played at campaign events, and is perhaps the first time that a piece of political propaganda has been so honored.
