Obama To Return to L.A.

Barack Obama will return to Los Angeles on June 24 for his first fund-raiser in the area since claiming the Democratic nomination.

The event --- certain to a big draw in the Hollywood and L.A. fund-raising community --- will be held at the Los Angeles Music Center in downtown Los Angeles, although the exact venue is being worked out, according to a source with knowledge of the plans. It will start at 5 p.m., and is being organized for a crowd of about 1,000.

Obama will be raising money for a victory fund via Democratic National Committee, meaning that donors can max out to $28,500 apiece.

A host committee is still being formed.

In June, 2004, John Kerry held a star-studded fund-raiser at the Music Center's Walt Disney Concert Hall that raised $5 million, one of the biggest hauls for a single presidential fund-raising event in the city.

When is John McCain going to do an event in Hollywood? A lot of us Hillary supporters can't wait to roll up our sleeves and get to work for John McCain. He's paid his dues to this country, and has shown he's willing to fight the status quo, not just talk about it like some candidates.
