Hillary on "The O'Reilly Factor"

Updated

It's not quite the confrontation that had been predicted, but it is not like she's doing another shot on "Today," either.

"I ended up thinking I had to help you out here," she says, explaining why she agreed to the sitdown.

Clinton holds her own --- and skillfully dodges O'Reilly's question of whether she's surprised that Fox is treating her better than other news networks. You do not come away with the sense that she doesn't like this. In fact, she seems to enjoy engaging O'Reilly at points. She even got him to declare that Teddy Roosevelt, which she is citing in campaign stump speeches, is "somewhat" a socialist.

Here's one excerpt.

With McCain and Clinton lying so much, it looks as though the "same old, same old" is what America wants. Real change, even incremental change is too difficult for us. The past eight years of crushing the Constitution has produced barely a whimper from our fellow countrymen.

Kuddos to Hillary. Yes, I will always loathe her. Yet, Hillary has become a character in this presidential reality show that has become part of our lives. I've come to care about her as I have to some Soap Opera characters. Janet Soprano comes to mind. I think Hillary impressed both liberals ans conservatives by going into the lions den. It was a great political theatre on her part. O'Reilly and Hillary both seemed to relish discussing Jerimiah Wright. This is Hillary at her dastardly best. It was certainly better than the canned interviews we grown accustomed. I salute Hillary because she is such a interesting villainess. Her attacks on Obama, sometimes crude, sometimes well planned, display the balance and earnestness of Barack. He has become my hero.
