6 Grammys: Clinton Vs. Obama

As if the competition on the trail weren't enough, this morning's Grammy nominee announcements revealed that former President Bill Clinton is pitted against Barack Obama.

In the spoken word album category, Obama is nominated for his reading of the book "The Audacity of Hope" while Clinton is nominated for "Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World."

Also nominated was former President Jimmy Carter for "Sunday Mornings in Plains: Bringing Peace to a Changing World." Rounding out the list are Maya Angelou for "Celebrations" (she read a poem at Clinton's 1992 inaugural) and Alan Alda for "Things I Overheard While Talking to Myself" (he played a presidential candidate on "The West Wing").

The category is becoming a mainstay for politicos.

Obama already has won a Grammy, in 2006 for his reading of "Dreams from My Father." Clinton won in 2004 and 2005. And Hillary Clinton won in 1997.

Carter, meanwhile, won a Grammy earlier this year in the same category for "Our Endangered Values: America's Moral Crisis."

Angelou tops them all: She has won in the category three times before.
