Matt Lauer Lands Larry Craig

Matt Lauer has landed one of the latest big "gets."

The embattled Idaho senator sits down for a "Matt Lauer Reports" prime time special on Tuesday, followed by an appearance on "Today" the next morning.

Lauer also will interview Craig's wife, Suzanne, in what is surely not the greatest news for the Senate's Republican leadership, which would prefer that the matter just go away.

I listened to your interview with Idaho Senator Larry Craig Tues. night with interest and I am pleased that he and his wife Suzanne had this opportunity to tell their side of this story.

I am a Boise native and have lived in the Boise valley most of my life. I am a Senior adult now, but feel that Larry has represented Idaho interests very well.

It is sad when our society has nothing better to do (talk show hosts, media, etc.) than to try to destroy an individual's life without having all the facts just to present an interesting story.

I believe most of us, male and female will be careful when going into a public restroom in the future, as our actions might be misconstrued as I feel his have been. In listening to the tape, I too, feel the officer may have had an agenda to arrest someone as he didn't give Sen. Craig much of an opportunity to tell his side of the story. How do any of us know what we would do on impulse if put in that situation. Yes, he probably shouldn't have pleaded guilty as he did but that doesn't mean he is guilty and I personally am glad he is fighting it.

I, as a Republican am disappointed that our Republican congress isn't behind him in helping him to clear his name.

Sincerely,
A.C.
