Duvall Endorses Rudy

Robertduv_jeffr_11671759_400_2 Rudy Giuliani picked up an endorsement from an actor who's played just the type of characters Giuliani used to prosecute.

The campaign announced that Robert Duvall has given Giuliani his nod, and that he and his wife Luciani will host of fund-raiser for him at their Virginia home later this month.

“Rudy has consistently proven he’s ready to confront tough challenges,” Duvall said in a statement. “I don’t normally get involved in politics, but I think the stakes are too high this election.  Mayor Giuliani has the executive experience, proven record and bold vision needed to lead our country. Luciana and I are proud to support him.”

Guiliani said in a statement, “Their willingness to not only offer their support, but to open their home is a tremendous contribution.  I am excited to have the Duvalls on our team.”

Duvall received the first of six Oscar nominations for "The Godfather." He won an Oscar for his role in "Tender Mercies."
